Finding meaning through pain…or “Why do bad things happen to good or bad people”

There are many spiritual and mystic leaders and psychologists who feel that the bad things which occur in a person’s life are actually brought to them by God or Spirit!

They consider such things a gift. Then, the choice is up to the person just what they do with it. The bad thing might be losing a child to a violent death, losing a leg, being tortured, getting raped, losing eyesight, losing sanity, becoming hopelessly addicted to a horrible behavior or drugs or alcohol and a whole host of other horrible events.

The painful event may turn out to be a gift from God and Spirit if we heed its calling and move closer to who we really are. It may also be too much for that soul to bear and they continue with the eyes and Heart closed and die a bitter person.

This is part of the mystery. In my life there have been many things which I wish would never have happened or that I wish I had not done to others or myself. There is a big mystery about much of life.

Consider for a moment that prior to being born your were a soul, sitting out there in Heaven with God or some high angel. It became your time to enroll in another level of learning, or maybe you were just plain drafted into life because God wanted it.
You were given a full review of what your future life would be like and the things you could learn if you applied yourself. You were given total free will to do good or harm to yourself and others. Then life began. You don't recall your assignment. Then you tried to wake up over time (or not wake up) regarding “Who am I?”, “What is life about?”, “Why am I here?”, Why was I born in America instead of Africa?”, “Is there really a God/Person/Christ/Buddha/or Saint who is going to save me and I’ll automatically go back to Heaven even if I kill someone because I went through a ritual saving me?”, “Is there any Spiritual Truth, Higher Power or Force which will help me avoid pain and gain understanding?” " Now can I be happy?". Or should I just live like their ain't no tomorrow and enjoy myself and others at anyone's expense?

Then during your life experience you get some answers right and some you never do. You just learn to surrender to Spirit or surrender to avoidance.

These are all questions that a person who is trying to "wake up" goes through.

How many of these have you asked.

How many have you answered?

One of my poems in"The Journey & Poetry" section gives my answer to all of the above.
