What if you don't consider yourself "Spiritual" or have a "Higher Power"?

This usually consists of living and doing things in absence of a connection to Spirit. This avoidance can be done in many ways, none of which are intrinsically wrong or bad, but without a connection to the Heart, they finally become meaningless: being busy, seeking achievement and recognition from others, material possessions, addictions. It is a life lived out of balance.

Someone who lives in a “non spiritual journey” can be a wonderful person, a lost person, a rich and famous person, a powerful person or an average person. Spiritual people are not always “better” people or even more happy. For some the journey is a struggle with little immediate reward. In terms of Spirit, time is irrelevant. You have to find your Heart and follow it. Then you will know if you are on your Spiritual Path.

In order to release part or all of one's false ego, false self, selfish values or find deep peace some sense of a Higher Power or God is recommended. By definition, if you don't feel there is any "Force or Power" which is greater than your own ego or mere chance then there is very little inspiration to care about others or the higher values of love, forgiveness, grace and kindness. You never realize the widely agreed benefits of the act of surrender.

One method of getting to know more about yourself and your life is to imagine yourself already dead and write your own obituary. How would you like to be remembered.
What were your strong points and in what areas will people not miss you.

With a little more effort use some guided imagery and imagination to see your own dead body. Feel your feelings. Was your life what you wished it to be. Will anyone really care about how many hours your worked, how many civic medals you received, how high your grade point average was or from what college you graduated? There is a feeling by me that the only things which we take with us after our death is:
